✨My Story✨

🌱How I Fell In Love With Jumping Spiders🕸️🕷️

A couple years ago, I went to visit a friend who lived up in the mountains.
There was this cozy little picnic area with a bunch of tables, and
—being the antisocial soul I am—I obviously picked the one
FURTHEST AWAY from everyone else 🤣

As my daughter and I sat there, we noticed a tiny jumper
hanging out on our table. I’ve always been TERRIFIED of
spiders, so I kept my distance—and so did she. We didn’t freak
out or try to kill it; we just gave it space. But then… it started
hopping toward us! 😳

When it got too close, we both jumped up, laughing and squealing
quietly (because my friend was on stage giving a speech). After a
few minutes, we sat back down. And sure enough, the little
spider came right back—this time hopping right in front of my
hand, like it WANTED me to pick it up!

We laughed and moved to another table when my friend
finished speaking… but guess who followed us there too? Yep,
our tiny eight-legged buddy! 🥹🕸️

I told my friend, “He’s following us!” So he gently scooped the
little guy up and placed him back on the first table. Not even
five minutes later—there he was again! My friend smiled and
said, “Jumping spiders don’t bite. They’re actually really smart
and friendly.” Then he let the little spider crawl on his hand,
anchor himself with silk, and climb back up again. Watching
that moment completely changed me. I had no idea spiders could
be so curious, intelligent, and even kind of adorable!

When I got home, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I started
watching videos, reading articles, and learning everything I
could about jumping spiders. For an entire year, I researched
and dreamed of having one of my own.

Now I finally do. 🥰 I currently keep 20 personal jumpers

and have been breeding them for almost a year now

Learning about jumping spiders has given me a whole new
understanding of them—and of nature itself. 🌎 I’ve become
more compassionate toward ALL spider species. I’ve realized
they’re not the villains they’ve been made out to be—they’re just
tiny, misunderstood beings who are more afraid of us than we
are of them. 🕷️💞
